Yanga show no mercy in five-goal first half

Pacôme Zouzoua provided two goals and an assist while Prince Dube also scored twice. Allan Okello assisted twice as the hosts jumped out to a 5-0 lead by halftime at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

It was 2-0 by the ten-minute mark with Zouzoua setting up Dube before opening his account for the day courtesy of a swift team movement that ended with Maxi Nzengeli’s assist for the Ivorian in the 9th minute.

Okello provided the first of his two assists on Nzengeli’s goal, the third for Yanga, in the 16th minute but the Ugandan’s best pass came just before halftime. Up 4-0 in first half stoppage time, Okello’s excellent pass over the top of the Mbeya City defense found the run of left back Mohamed Hussein for a volleyed finish.

Dube added one more goal late in the second half to complete the victory, leaving Wananchi eight points clear of closest rivals Simba SC on the league table. Young Africans remain undefeated in domestic fixtures, having captured Tanzania’s Community Shield at the beginning of the campaign while remaining unbeaten in the league and the CRDB Bank Federation Cup.
