Ibenge urges Azam FC to ‘enjoy football’ against JKT Tanzania

Azam FC head coach Florent Ibenge has revealed the team’s preparations for the Mainland Premier League fixture against JKT Tanzania have gone well, while expecting great competition due to the quality of their opponents this season.

Ibenge has explained this is one of the games Azam players have to enjoy playing because of its great competition, which motivates them to do better on the field. The Ice Cream Makers will face JKT Tanzania at Azam Complex Stadium on Friday.

For his part, Azam player, Nassor Saadun, said that all players are fully prepared to ensure they get good results in the game.

Ibenge predicts good game

“Yes, preparations was serious as usual, and we didn’t finish, we are going to finish today, because tomorrow we have a game, and just to day we are going to face one of the best teams here in Tanzania league,” Ibenge told Pan-Africa football.

“So, it is going to be a good game, and we have to enjoy playing this kind of games, and we know we played the first game away and it was difficult, but we managed to draw 1-1.

“We scored first, and they scored after in the last minute, and so, that means, this team never gives up, so, we know, and understand it will be a very difficult game tomorrow (Friday), and we have to be really focused to succeed.”

JKT Tanzania ready for Azam

JKT Tanzania head coach Ahmad Ally, said: “We are preparing players mentally and physically, and tactically knowing that we are going into a game against one of the best teams in Tanzania.

“We know what to expect from Azam, they have a good coach, and a very top side. It is good to play against them because these are the kind of matches we always look forward to.

“We have to be good on the field to beat Azam, and we have to compete.”

So far in the league, Azam are lying third in the 16-team league table with 34 points garnered from eight wins, 10 draws, and zero defeats.

For JKT Tanzania, they are below Azam in fourth place with 29 points from 18 outings.
