The former Danbort attacker and his teammate, Alhasane Kante were banned for 5 matches and fined Sh1 million each for their actions in the Premier League match against Azam FC on December 7, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Ally has now confirmed Sowah faced Simba’s disciplinary committee where some of the allegations against him were confirmed. This prompted the committee to demote the striker, and he is currently training with the U-20 side.
“Sowah was suspended ahead of Simba SC’s match against Dodoma Jiji. During his suspension, he appeared before the disciplinary committee, where some allegations were confirmed,” Ally explained.
Ally added: “Following the hearing, the player was found guilty of misconduct and has been handed a punishment that includes training with the club’s U-20 side.
“The decision took immediate effect, with the club set to monitor his behaviour before considering a return to the senior squad.”
The former Medeama SC striker was suspended by Simba for disciplinary issues and was given five days to respond to allegations leveled against him.
Sowah was adjudged to attend training sessions and club meetings late with the technical team and management continually raising concerns over his actions.
In a recent interview, Sowah defended himself regarding allegations of misconduct saying he is human and has two sides: “If I am a professional, as a professional, do I not have my good side, do I not have my bad side? I am human, so I will have good and bad sides.
“People will not find me out there and tell me this guy is undisciplined. No. Any time you find me saying I am undisciplined, it is on the field… When I play football and I lose, I get very angry. My goal is to score a goal, even if I get a red or yellow card, I don’t care.”
Sowah joined Simba from Singida Black Stars after previously playing for Medeama of Ghana and Al Nasr of Libya.
He has three international appearances for the senior team of Ghana the Black Stars.
