Prince Kwabena Adu: Viktoria Plzen attacker opens up on Ghana performance

Ghana national team forward Prince Kwabena Adu shared his thoughts on his performance during the two international friendlies against Austria and Germany in late March.

The Viktoria Plzen forward made his debut in November last year during the Black Stars 2-0 Kirin Cup loss against Japan at the Toyota Stadium.

He made his first senior start against South Korea on November 18 where Ghana lost 1-0 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

He said: “It’s so amazing, everything was great and I’m so happy to start these games and show myself,” he told JoySports. “I will give thanks to coach [Otto Addo] for giving me another chance to show myself, it’s really good and I’m really happy.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, the 22-year-old will look to make the final squad under newly appointed manager Carlos Queiroz.

The Portuguese veteran signed a four-months contract, replacing German trained Otto Addo.

For Viktoria Plzen this season, Kwabena Adu has made an impressive 23 appearances, scoring 6 times with 1 assist in the Chance Liga.

He is yet to score a goal after collecting four caps for the four-time African champions, who are paired against Panama, England and Croatia in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada and USA.
