Lamine N’Diaye comments on USM Alger vs Zamalek CAF Confederation Cup final

Lamine Ndiaye, head coach of USM Alger, believes the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup final against Zamalek SC will be challenging for both teams.

USM Alger secured their place in the final after a 1-1 draw against Olympic Safi in the second leg of the semi-final, advancing on the away goals rule. The first leg in Algeria had ended goalless.

Speaking to Ennahar newspaper, Ndiaye said: “We achieved a deserved qualification against Olympic Safi despite the circumstances we faced. The several stoppages during the match kind of made the players lose concentration, but the important thing is that we achieved our goal reaching the final.”

He added: “The Confederation Cup final against Zamalek will not be easy for either side, and we will prepare in the necessary way.”

This marks the second time in history that USM Alger reach the final, having previously done so in the 2022–2023 season, when they went on to win the title against Young Africans SC.
