Ezzalzouli, Bakambu and Ounahi shine as Real Betis edge Girona in five-goal thriller in La Liga

Moroccan stars Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Azzedine Ounahi, alongside Congolese striker Cédric Bakambu, delivered standout performances as Real Betis secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Girona in Round 33 of La Liga.

Ezzalzouli was the star of the night, scoring once and providing two assists to lead Betis to an important win, while Bakambu contributed with an assist. On the other side, Ounahi found the net for Girona.

Girona took an early lead in the 7th minute through Viktor Tsygankov, but Betis responded in the 23rd minute when Ezzalzouli headed the ball into the path of Marc Roca, who fired home the equalizer.

In the second half, Ezzalzouli put Betis ahead in the 63rd minute with a finish inside the box after a low cross from Bakambu.

Ounahi quickly responded for Girona, converting a penalty in the 68th minute to make it 2-2.

However, Ezzalzouli had the final say, delivering another low cross in the 80th minute that was converted by Rodrigo Riquelme to seal the 3-2 victory for Betis.

With this win, Real Betis move up to 49 points, strengthening their position in fifth place and boosting their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. Meanwhile, Girona remain on 38 points in 12th place.
