The Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee’s axe fell off on some players and clubs in the domestic topflight.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Mohamed Camara, has been handed a five (5) match ban, fined GHS 20,000, and formally warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following their Ghana Premier League game against Karela United FC.
The player was found guilty of unsporting behaviour towards the match referee, in that he assaulted the referee after the game.
The five (5) match ban takes immediate effect, and the fine is to be paid within fourteen (14) days of notification of the decision.
Mohamed Camara has further been warned that any future misconduct will attract more severe sanctions.
In the saw vein, Kwasi Frimpong Amos, Welfare Officer of Asante Kotoko SC, has also been handed a ten (10) match ban, fined GHS 20,000, and formally warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following their Ghana Premier League game against Karela United FC.
The official was found guilty of unsporting behaviour towards match officials, in that he forcefully seized a red card from the referee and interfered with the referee’s authority after the match.
The Disciplinary Committee also meted out punishment to Bechem United FC fining them GHS 10,000 and formally warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following their Ghana Premier League game against Karela United FC.
The club was found guilty of allowing supporters to throw objects onto the field of play and failing to exercise proper control over its technical team members and officials.
The fine is to be paid within fourteen (14) days of notification of the decision.
Basake Holy Stars FC incurred a fine of GHS 20,000 and formally warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following their Ghana Premier League game against Swedru All Blacks FC.
The club was found guilty of preventing a person authorised by the GFA from filming a match, in that its supporters obstructed the authorised cameraman of the away team from filming the match.
The fine is to be paid within fourteen (14) days of notification of the decision.
Raymond Oko Grippman, player of Nations FC, has been handed a five (5) match ban and formally warned by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct following their Ghana Premier League game against Asante Kotoko SC.
The player was found guilty of unsporting behaviour towards an opponent after committing a foul and deliberately stamping on the thigh of the said opponent.
