Africans abroad: Ibrahim Osman scores and assists in Birmingham win

African players continue to dazzle across Europe with their various league seasons inching closer to the end.

Young Ghana international Ibrahim Osman scored and provided an assist during Birmingham City’s 2-1 win against Preston North End in the English Championship on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old scored Birmingham City’s second goal in the 16th minute after providing for Jay Stansfield to open the floodgates in the 11th minute.

Andrew Hughes pulled a goal back for Preston in the 25th minute but it was late to rescue a draw for the visitors.

Ibrahim Osman pulled out with injury

The goal was Osman’s second of the season in 16-matches but the winger was however substituted after just 37 minutes due to injury.

In the Turkish Super Lig, veteran Mali striker, Adama Traore assisted and scored one of the two goals as Genclerbirligi shocked leaders Galatasary 2-0 at their backyard on Wednesday.

Traore scored Genclerbirligi’s second goal in the 83rd minute after Faratcan Uzum opened the score from Traore’s assist in the 51st minute.

It was the 30-year-old’s debut goal in 12 appearances this season after joining them from Saudi Arabia club Al-Ula last year.

Mory Konate was on the losing side

Experienced Guinea midfielder, Mory Konate mesmerized the Belgian Pro League, scoring his second goal of the season despite being on the losing side with KV Mechelen.

The 32-year-old scored Mechelen’s equalizer in the 10th minute but they were walloped 6-1 in the end by Club Brugge.

Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal stars show class

In the Swedish Allsvenskan league, young Ghanaian, Junior Adjei pulled a 58th minute equalizer in Hammarby’s IF’s 1-1 draw against Halmstads BK.

In the Danish SuperLiga, forgotten Nigerian forward, Emmanuel Dennis scored the only goal in added time as Broendby IF traveled to pick all three points at Viborg.

Nigerian attacker, Moses Usor became the hero for LASK Linz with his equalizer during their 1-1 draw at giants Sturm Graz in the Austria Bundesliga on Wednesday.

In the Chinese Super League, 28-year-old Senegal attacker, Makhtar Gueye was on the score sheet as Shanghai Shenhua defeated Quingdao Hainiu.
