Malawi: Wanderers secure mighty Kingbossi deal

With hours before the season gets underway on Saturday, Malawi Super League champions Mighty Wanderers FC have secured a massive commercial deal.

Mighty Wanderers FC have secured a season-long USD 114,000 (MK200 million) sponsorship from motorcycle dealers, KingBoss. The two parties signed the sponsorship agreement in Malawi’s commercial capital, Blantyre, on Thursday, 23rd April 2026.

The deal came hours before the Super League/FDH Premiership defending champions start the season with a home game against Karonga United in Blantyre on Saturday.

During the ceremony as quoted by the club’s media, Kingbossi Chief Executive Officer, Siza Ngomero, said the partnership signifies the start of a new chapter for the mutual benefit of the two entities.

What Wanderers and Kingbossi sponsorship entails

He explained that under the agreement, the motorcycle manufacturers and distributors will leverage on the massive fan base for the Nomads who command a big following estimated at over two million across the country

“We are a successful company, and we needed to join hands with Wanderers because they are also a successful club. We are making a commitment to contribute towards its sustainability and upholding our mutual values,” Ngomero said.

The company hopes that such a huge following can be turned into a customer base for its motorcycles.

Taking his turn, Wanderers FC, Board Secretary, Chancy Gondwe thanked the motorcycle manufacturer for the landmark partnership.

“The coming in of Kingbossi is a testament that they [Kingbossi] believe in us and our ability to achieve milestones in football. On behalf of the Club President [Dr Thomson Mpinganjira, we thank them for partnering with Malawi’s football champions and together we shall achieve more,” he said.

Kingboss has provided the Nomads with a branded minibus van for commercial and marketing operations, training kits, laptops and prizes for player of the week award.

The motorcyle dealers will support the club’s fan engagement activities through raffle draws where the winners will walk away with motorcycles.
