Uganda Premier League: Matchday 26 ignites survival scraps and top-8 race

The battle lines are drawn as Matchday 26 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League rolls off this Tuesday, with clubs across the table chasing contrasting ambitions from survival fights to top-eight pushes.
Under the floodlights later in the evening, URA FC will be desperate to steady their campaign when they host Maroons at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

The Tax Collectors come into the fixture on a worrying five-game winless run, sitting on 24 points and still needing at least one more victory to mathematically secure their topflight status for next season.
Maroons, however, arrive with momentum after a convincing 3-1 win over Police in their previous outing. With their sights set on breaking into the top eight, they will view this as another opportunity to strengthen their push.
Earlier in the day, attention shifts to Njeru where BUL FC take on an in-form NEC side enjoying a remarkable 17-match unbeaten streak.

BUL, currently eighth with 34 points, head into the contest rejuvenated after snapping a poor run with victory over Express. A win here would solidify their grip on a top-eight finish.
For NEC, who sit fifth on 42 points, the mission is clear close the gap on the top four and keep their impressive run alive.
Meanwhile, the pressure mounts in Kamwenge where relegation-threatened Mbarara City host Express. The Ankole Lions, languishing in 14th place with 18 points, are in a must-win situation as they fight to stay afloat.
Express, still smarting from their 0-2 defeat to BUL, will be equally motivated to respond quickly. The Red Eagles know that anything less than victory could seriously dent their hopes of finishing inside the top eight.
With crucial points up for grabs across all fixtures, Matchday 26 promises intensity, urgency, and defining moments at both ends of the table.
