Former Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has explained why he left the record Ghana Premier League holders.
The former West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] trainer guided Kotoko to Ghana Premier League glory in his first spell in 2021-21 season.
He left his post despite the glorious moment before returning for a second stint in the 2023/24 campaign.
Ogum, who is currently the head coach of Ghana’s U-17 national team, discussed his side of the story with Ghana Football Association’s Podcast.
“After the season, I think certain things went on which I wasn’t okay with.
“So humbly and respectfully, I engaged management and I told them that I wasn’t interested in continuing again even though I had a year left of my contract,” he said on GFA Podcast.
Prosper Ogum previously coached Elmina Sharks, Ebusua Dwarfs and Karela United before joining WAFA.
He is currently in Ivory Coast with the Black Starlets preparing for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.
Ghana lost 2-0 against the Junior Elephants in the first of the double-header friendly at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara on Tuesday, April 28 with the second game coming up on Thursday April 30.
