AS Vita invade market after lifting of FIFA ban

With their FIFA transfer ban lifted AS Vita Club has invaded the market with a wave of new signings.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) side has responded to the end of its ban by recruiting centre-forward Mpiana Mozizi, attacking midfielder Likango Mbala and defender Nsimba Ngembo.

The last club for 31-year-old Mbala and 29-year-old Mozizi was AC Rangers who campaign in the Linafoot Ligue 1.

What to know about AS Vita new arrivals

The players have reported to have signed contracts until the end of the 2026 Linafoot Ligue 1 season on a free transfer.

FIFA lifted the ban it imposed on AS Vita from registering new players over dues owed to Mauritanian defender Sid’Ahmed Ablla.

The ban meant that the Congolese team could not sign any new player until all outstanding dues were cleared.

Now, in a letter dated 28 April and addressed to the Congolese side, FIFA Head of Disciplinary Americo Espallargas confirmed the lifting of the sanctions on the Lifafoot Ligue side.

AS Vita Club are considered among the giants of African football boasting one CAF Champions League won in 1973 and 15 Linafoot Ligue 1 titles to their credit.

A.S Vita have since appointed Cédric-Arnauld Nanitelamio as their new head coach after parting ways with Barthelemy Ngatsono.
