The talented offensive player comes from FC San Pedro in his native country and has already represented and scored for his country during the U-17 World Cup in Qatar last year.
He is expected in the coming weeks to play at the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations as part of the Ivory Coast’s team in Morocco. The tournament will begin on May 13.
A statement on the capture of the young forward read on the club’s website site.
“Hubert Yao is a great Ivorian talent, whom we look forward to welcoming here at FC Nordsjælland when he turns 18.
He is a tall offensive player who can play both as a striker and on the wing, as he has enormous speed and is very persistent in his game.
“He is good at attacking space and challenging in 1-on-1 situations, and he can also get to the finish and score goals. And he has already made a positive impression on the Ivorian U-17 national team.
It is really good work by our scouting team, and it is important for us that we can continue to attract great talents from West Africa. It is an investment in our future, and we look forward to Hubert Yao being part of it.”
Yao expressed delight over joining the club as he seeks to brighten his corner, starting in 2028.
“I am very happy that it is now confirmed that I will come to FC Nordsjælland when I turn 18. It is a childhood dream come true for me, and both my family and I are very proud of it. I can hardly wait to play my first game for the club.”
