Nigeria federation confirms Eaglets and Flying Eagles coaches

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has announced the appointment of Abdu Maikaba and Eboboritse Uwejamomere as head coaches of the U-20 Flying Eagles and U-17 Golden Eaglets national teams, respectively.

This announcement follows the recommendation of the federation’s Technical and Development Committee.

Maikaba, who has managed several top Nigerian clubs, previously served as the head coach of the Golden Eaglets. He was also an assistant coach for the Flying Eagles during Paul Aigbogun’s tenure. The veteran tactician has led elite sides such as Enyimba FC, Wikki Tourists, Kano Pillars, and Plateau United. He famously guided Akwa United FC to victory in Nigeria’s oldest football competition (now the President Federation Cup) in 2017.

Uwejamomere to lead Golden Eaglets

Eboboritse Uwejamomere, the new head coach of the five-time world champion Golden Eaglets, has served as a coach-analyst for the senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles, for several years.

He is currently the Head of Academy at the ambitious Sporting Lagos FC, which recently gained promotion back to the NPFL. Uwejamomere’s extensive resume includes roles as an analyst for the Super Falcons and academy youth development coach at English clubs Millwall FC, Gillingham FC, and Nottingham Forest FC. He also previously served as head coach of Abeokuta-based Stormers FC.
