Espérance Sportive de Tunis have officially announced the dismissal of French head coach Patrice Beaumelle following a disappointing run of results, with the latest setback coming in the highly charged Tunis derby against rivals Club Africain.
Esperance’s 1-0 defeat to Club Africain at Stade Hammadi Agrebi proved to be the final blow, as club management decided to end Beaumelle’s tenure after the team officially lost the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
In an official statement, the Tunisian club confirmed:
“Esperance Sportive de Tunis informs its supporters of the end of coach Patrice Beaumelle’s experience with the first team. Coach Christian Bracconi will oversee the team until the end of the current season.”
Christian Bracconi has now been appointed as interim manager for the remainder of the season while the club prepares to search for a permanent head coach for the next campaign.
Beaumelle’s spell with Esperance lasted just 13 matches across all competitions, during which he recorded:
He lead Espernace to pass Al Ahly in CAF Champions League quarterfinal, then played the semifinal where they lost 2-0 on aggregate to Mamelodi Sundowns.
