Tariq Lamptey and ACF Fiorentina mutually agree to terminate contract

Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey and ACF Fiorentina have mutually agreed to terminate the defender’s contract following a frustrating and injury-plagued spell in Italy.

Lamptey endured a difficult period at the Serie A outfit, managing just two appearances and totaling only 26 minutes of action before suffering a devastating ruptured ACL that brought his season to an abrupt and painful halt.

His arrival in Florence had initially generated significant excitement among the Viola supporters; however, recurring fitness problems ultimately prevented the former Brighton & Hove Albion full-back from establishing himself as a regular in the matchday squad.

The ACL injury proved to be the decisive setback in his Italian adventure, leading both the player and the club to settle on an early separation. This move allows Lamptey to focus entirely on his rehabilitation and the long-term goal of rebuilding his professional career.

A new chapter awaits for Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey

Despite the disappointing nature of his spell in Florence, the 25-year-old remains highly regarded for his explosive talent and extensive experience at both club and international levels with the Ghana national team.

Lamptey is now expected to begin the search for a fresh start elsewhere once he has successfully completed his grueling recovery process, with several clubs likely to be monitoring his fitness status ahead of a potential move.
