Senegal national team prodigy Ibrahim Mbaye was on the scoresheet as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lens 2-0 to clinch the 2025/26 French Ligue 1 title.
The victory on Wednesday evening marked PSG’s 14th title, increasing their record as the most successful club in the French top tier.
The Red and Blues were as usual a delight to watch at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, firing themselves ahead a minute before the half hour mark. Georgian attacker Khvicha Kvaratshkelia rose to the ocassion, latching on to Ousmane Dembélé’s perfect assist to slot home the opener.
The first half ended with coach Luis Enrique’s men holding on to the slim lead while Lens struggled to find their scoring form. Back from recess, the visitors lifted their game with impressive stretches of possession in the middle of the park.
As the game headed into the dying embers, Mbaye nailed Lens coffin with PSG’s second and his third of the season. The 18-year-old, who has struggled for regular playing time this season, made his 28th appearance with 2 assists and now 3 goals to his name.
