Yanga playmaker Okello awarded with NBC Premier League monthly honour

Young Africans SC midfielder Allan Okello has been named the NBC Premier League Player of the Month for April 2026 following a string of outstanding performances with Tanzanian top flight leaders Yanga.

The Ugandan international earned the accolade after playing a key role in the club’s impressive run during the month, where they maintained its strong push in the title race through dominant attacking displays and consistent results.

Okello featured in three league matches during April, playing a total of 320 minutes and directly contributing to seven goals.

The gifted playmaker scored once and remarkably registered six assists, underlining his importance as the creative heartbeat of the team.

His vision, passing range and composure in the final third proved decisive for Yanga, with the former KCCA FC star repeatedly unlocking defenses and creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. The award is further recognition of Okello’s growing influence at the Tanzanian club since joining the side.
