Kaizer Chiefs great Reneilwe Letsholonyane has been shortlisted for the Botswana Premier League (BPL)/FNB Premiership Coach of the Year Award.
The Matebele FC mentor has earned the nomination alongside his Gaborone United counterpart Sean Connor and Reuben Njavera of NICO United.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder steered Matebele FC to a respectable ninth-place finish, three places behind his NICO United counterpart.
The former Bafana Bafana star joined Matebele FC when they were in 10th position in the FNB Premiership table in September 2025.
On the other hand, Connor is the overwhelming favourite for the accolade after leading Gaborone United to a commanding title retention, finishing 12 points clear of second-place Jwaneng Galaxy.
In a statement, BPL outlined the criteria for the ultimate choice of the best coach for the 2025-2026 campaign.
The statement adds that the award” recognises a coach’s outstanding performance and impact on their team’s success. Key factors include: team performance, player development, tactical prowess, and overcoming challenges. Must have managed at least 70% matches in a season.”
