Amine Gouiri wins Ligue 1’s monthly accolade

Amine Gouiri was named Ligue 1’s Player of the Month for February after beating PSG duo Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi. The Olympique de Marseille striker enjoyed a superb month as he took home the award.

The Algerian international scored twice while providing three assists during the month. The 25-year-old assisted against his former employers Olympique Lyonnais as well as Angers, also bagging a brace in Marseille’s 5-1 win over St Etienne.

OM coach Roberto De Zerbi praised the contribution of the Algerian previously as the Italian tactician stated he expected Gouiri to be a key performer for the Champions League spot chasers. Gouiri become the second OM player to win the monthly award this season after Mason Greenwood.
