Jay-Jay Okocha urges Victor Osimhen to make sacrifices in next transfer move

Nigerian football legend Jay-Jay Okocha has urged Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen to make a wise decision amid growing speculation over his next move this summer.

After a great season with Galatasaray, helping them to win the domestic double of the Turkish Süper League and the Turkish Cup, Osimhen’s future has become a big talking point in the upcoming transfer window. Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United have been linked as possible destinations.

However, Okocha, who played for Fenerbahçe in Turkey, believes staying in Galatasaray would be a good decision, even if it means personal sacrifices.

“Turkey is a great place to play football and live,” Okocha told TRT Spor via Haberler. “Sometimes, you may need to make sacrifices when making decisions in football. Osimhen had a great season at Galatasaray.

“Ultimately, he is happy there. Why shouldn’t he stay with the team? I love Turkey. He loves it too.”

On whether he knows Osimhen’s next destination, Okocha replied: “I don’t know […] Wherever he decides to go, I wish him the best.”

Last season, Osimhen featured 30 times in the league for Galatasaray, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists.
