Scholes urges Manchester United to sign Victor Osimhen this summer

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has called on the Premier League club’s top hierarchy to go for the services of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen this summer.

Osimhen enjoyed a superb season in Turkish Super Lig last season helping Galatasaray to clinch a double – the Turkish Super Lig trophy and the Turkish Cup. He managed 30 league matches, scored 26 goals and provided five assists.

With Man United looking to reinforce their striking department, Scholes has called on the club to consider signing Osimhen. “I think [Victor] Osimhen, it sounds like a doable one,” Scholes told The Overlap Fan Debate.

“When you talk about financial problems, Osimhen could be doable. But I would keep [Rasmus] Hojlund. I know he has not been great, but he’s a 22-year-old kid playing on his own for Manchester United the last two years.

“Manchester United should have at least three top centre forwards. I would have him and Osimhen. Him, Osimhen and Gyokeres.”

According to Team Talk, the 26-year-old striker also has a release clause of €75million (£63million, $85.3 million) in his contract at Napoli.
