Semenyo on the double, Kudus nets to cap Premier League season on a fine note

Ghana national team striker Antoine Semenyo capped his season with brace for Bournemouth in their 2-0 Premier League victory over relegated Leicester on Sunday.

Andoni Iraola’s charges were the better side but sold a barren first half against Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s charges at the Vitality Stadium.

The deadlock however was finally broken following a Bournemouth corner. Justin Kluivert sent the ball to the far post where Illya Zabarnyi headed it back into the six-yard box with Semenyo waiting to stab it home.

Real Madrid bound Dean Huijsen had a hand in Semenyo’s second goal, winning the ball back on the edge of the Leicester penalty area to allow the Ghana international to pick his spot and score.

Semenyo ended his season’s tally on 11 goals in 37 league matches with 5 assists as the Cherries finished in 9th on 56 points in 38 matches.

Elsewhere, Semenyo’s compatriot, Mohammed Kudus registered a third goal for West Ham who pummeled another relegated side, Ipswich Town by 3-1.

Kudus exchanged passes with Guido Rodriguez and bent a shot beyond Christian Walton. James Ward-Prowse and Jarred Bowen found the other goals for West Ham with Nathan Broadhead with the goal for Ipswich. Kudus finished his season with 32 matches and five goals with three assists.
