Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has admitted that they are not interested at what is happening at the Mainland Premier League table only insisting that their focus is to take it a game at a time.
The Msimbazi Reds continued with their push to catch up with Young Africans (Yanga SC) at the summit following a convincing 5-1 win against Pamba Jiji at KMC Stadium on Thursday.
Jean Ahoua opened the floodgate of goals in the 15th minute before he doubled the scores in the 37th minute for a 2-0 lead at the half-time break. Ahoua then scored the third in the 48th minute to seal hat-trick before a double from Leonel Ateba in the 80th and 85th minutes respectively sealed the emphatic win.
“Pamba is a very good side, very aggressive and very physical, so it was very important for us to rotate positions, it was good fight from Kapombe, playing from the inside number 10, we had Mpanzu playing wide, because we needed to create space, so it was good execution from the players,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football.
“We need everybody ready to come and perform, that is what is needed at this stage of the season, and in two days’ time, we need recovery and put a competitive side to be able to get the three points, so three down and one more to go.
“We are taking it game by game, it is gonna be game by game, we can’t be talking about the title when we still have a game in hand, and we still have more matches to play, we just have to take it game by game, we are not looking at the table right now, it is just about getting the three points, and we put the best line-up with matches coming up thick and fast.”
The win pushed Simba to within four points of rivals Yanga, as they reached 66 points and they still have a game in hand against KMC.
