According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal have not given up in their pursuit to land the services of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen ahead of the new season.
Just a few weeks ago, reports emerged that Osimhen, who enjoyed a splendid season with Turkish giants Galasarasay, had turned down an offer of around €40 million (over ₦17 billion), from the Saudi-based club.
According to Romano, despite the rejection, Al Hilal have still not given up on landing their transfer target, who is also a target for a number of top European clubs including Arsenal, and Manchester United. Galatasaray have also in recent weeks showed their intentions to sign Osimhen on a permanent deal from Serie A giants Napoli.
“Al Hilal are still not giving up on Victor Osimhen,” Romano explained while speaking on his YouTube channel as quoted by allnigeriasoccer. “Al Hilal have not left the conversation and remain interested in Victor Osimhen. Al Hilal believe that other clubs can’t compete with their financial proposal to Victor Osimhen.
“And this why they want to try despite rejection by the player to participate in the Club World Cup with them. They want to try again because they had an agreement already with Napoli by paying the release clause, and they want to try again on player’s side.
“Al-Hilal are expected to return for Victor Osimhen, then let’s see what the player decides. There is Galatasaray, there is interest from Premier League, so there are several solutions for Osimhen. Al-Hilal are still offering big money to Victor Osimhen.”
While on loan at Galatasaray last season, Osimhen helped them to win the domestic double of the Turkish Süper Lig and Turkish Cup. He featured 30 times in the league, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists.
