Getafe still wants to sign Umar Sadiq

Getafe are not giving up on strengthening their attack and have once again identified Nigerian international Umar Sadiq as one of their main targets in the transfer market.

Getafe, who had already attempted to sign Sadiq during the winter transfer window, are once again focusing their efforts on the 28-year-old Nigerian striker. The Spanish club’s sporting directors believe Sadiq could be the ideal addition to their attacking lineup.

Sadiq showed flashes of his ability on loan at Valencia, collecting five goals in sixteen La Liga games and also winning the league’s Goal of the Month award for March.

Getafe’s interest in Sadiq is nothing new: the Madrid club was already negotiating his arrival this winter, but the striker ultimately opted for Valencia after being attracted by their project. Now that Valencia has rejected him, Getafe sees a new opportunity to secure his services.

Real Sociedad, for its part, continues to seek a solution for Sadiq, who is not included in the plans of Sergio Francisco after replacing Imanol Alguacil as head coach. The club would be willing to accept a new loan with an option to buy, although in previous negotiations the main obstacle was Real Sociedad’s demand for a mandatory buyout clause.
