Chelsea coach says Espérance de Tunis game a must-win

Chelsea FC coach Enzo Maresca has described Tuesday’s game against Espérance de Tunis as a must-win.

The Italian reflected on the forthcoming game at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, as the Blues seek to bounce from the 3-1 defeat to Brazilian side Flamengo on Saturday.

“It’s very important [to show a reaction in the next game. We need to win on Tuesday to make sure we get through to the next stage,” Maresca told Chelsea media.

The defeat of Saturday left the Blues second in Group D going into the decisive match against Espérance. Therefore, the coach highlighted the importance of his players bouncing back against the North African opposition.

Chelsea will face Esperance minus Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson who was red-carded during Saturday’s game.
