Asante Kotoko’s new signing Joseph Amoah has made his intentions clear of being part of the club’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The 21-year-old has joined the record Ghana Premier League holders on a four-year deal, following the successful completion of his medicals.
Amoah, who is capable of slotting into several positions, signed for the two-time continental champions from the relegated Legon Cities, where he raked in close to fifty league appearances. A physically gifted player, he is looking forward to playing a key role in coach Karim Zito’s side ahead of next season’s domestic and continental campaign.
“I’m absolutely elated to make this move,” Amoah said. “Coming from a Legon Cities side that had a tough season, to now joining the biggest club in Ghana, is a huge step in my career.
“There were a few offers on the table, but for me it was always Asante Kotoko. The ambition here is clear, and I want to be part of something special especially in the CAF confederation cup.”
Kotoko earlier completed the signing of midfielder Seth Kwadwo on a four- year deal.
The 23-year-old joined from fellow top flight side, Bechem United after making 72 league appearances in recent seasons.
Seth Kwadwo said: “This is a big step in my career and I’m grateful for the opportunity,” Kwadwo said when speaking with Kotoko Media.
“I spoke with Aziz and Francis before making the move, and they had nothing but good things to say about the club. That gave me a lot of confidence. I’m excited to get started and ready to give everything to help the team win.”
Seth Kwadwo’s acquisition is a timely replacement for the injured Andrews Ntim Manu who tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The Porcupine Warriors finished third in last season’s Ghana Premier League but managed to beat Division One side, Golden Kicks by 2-1 to claim MTN FA Cup.
They will represent Ghana at the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup – a competition they are yet to win.
