Eliesse Ben Seghir’s time at French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco continues to be surrounded in uncertainty. The Moroccan prodigy has been lamenting the amount of time he was given at Les Monégasques as he eyes the exit door. Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro disclosed that the player is expected to stay as he is part of the club’s plans.

Scuro was quoted by Get French Football News as he defended head coach Adi Hütter regarding Ben Seghir’s second half of the season at the club:
“At the end of last season, he had a vision that doesn’t reflect reality. He played more than 2,000 minutes, which is a lot. He scored lots of goals and made lots of assists. It is our job, too, to show that the plan is ongoing. A football career is a process, not an act,” said the Brazilian football administrator.
Ben Seghir was clearly disappointed at seeing his role reduced with more appearances off the bench rather than in the starting eleven in the second half of the campaign. Top clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen have shown interest in the rising talent.
