Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly finalised two more signings as they continue to strengthen their squad for what promises to be a demanding 2025/26 season, with the added challenge of competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
While the club has yet to make an official announcement, Siphesihle Ndlovu from SuperSport United is set to join Chiefs, with midfielder George Matlou offered a contract renewal.
Ndlovu has completed his move to Chiefs as reported by FARPost. Amakhosi and SuperSport have agreed on the transfer fee, and Ndlovu has also undergone medical examinations. This comes after Pan-Africa Football also reported that SuperSport were willing to sell the player and negotiations were ongoing.
The 28-year-old joined SuperSport three years ago on loan from Orlando Pirates before making the move permanent.
It is said that Ndlovu has penned a three-year contract with Chiefs. However, he will not immediately join the team for their pre-season trip to the Netherlands due to visa processing, which typically takes 15 days or less.
Meanwhile, Chiefs have offered Matlou a new short-term deal. The midfielder’s contract expired on June 30, 2025, and there were talks that he might not be given a new contract due to a crowded squad at Chiefs.
The club’s expected busy schedule in the 2025/26 season, including the Confederation Cup, is believed to have necessitated Matlou’s continued presence.
The 26-year-old, who joined Chiefs from Moroka Swallows in July 2022, has made 40 appearances for the club, contributing three assists.
Matlou’s new contract offer follows a strong return to form in the latter part of the 2024/25 season after a lengthy injury spell.
He notably provided an assist in the Nedbank Cup semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns, a match Chiefs won 2-1 on their way to ending a decade-long trophy drought.
Matlou is included in the squad departing for pre-season training in the Netherlands from July 3 to 19, having been training with the team since the start of pre-season.
