Zambia’s MTN Super League side Zesco United have strengthened their squad with four international players ahead of participation in CAF Confederation Cup and domestic assignments.
The nine-time champions confirmed the signing of former TP Mazembe defender Kabaso Chongo. The 32-year-old centre back left the Congolese team a few years and was on the books of Kabwe Warriors last season.
He has been joined by Zambian international striker Kelvin Mubanga. The 29-year-old has rejoined the electricity men after exiting Al-Madina SC in Libya.
United have also acquired Nigerian Alakwe Chikokwe following his switch from Akwa United. The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year contract alongside compatriot Ofoni Pepo. The 25-year-old winger was last on the books of Sur SC in Oman.
United have since said they expect “the new players to make an immediate impact, strengthening the squad and enhancing the team’s performance in the upcoming season.”
The teams finished in second place of the Zambian league last season, five points behind champions Power Dynamos who are gearing up for the 2026 CAF Champions League.
