CS Sfaxien support committee head Mohamed Aloulou resigns

CS Sfaxien’s High Support Committee head Mohamed Aloulou has resigned from his post for undisclosed reasons. The Tunisian Ligue 1 side is trying to come out of a financial struggle following a poor 2024-25 season.

The committee was set up to support the Sfax based club in their pursuit of financial stability. Aloulou was at the helm of the support committee since February 2025. According to Tunisian state owned media La Presse, the resignation came as a surprise to many Sfaxien fans.

Sfaxien board chairman Mehdi Frikha previously stated the club is in fight to be financially robust. “We must turn the page on a decade of poor governance which led the CS Sfaxien to this major and rather acute financial crisis, the exit from which is only possible after a rather long struggle and at the cost of painful but necessary reforms.”

Aloulou’s departure is seen by many as untimely as the club kicked off preparation for the new season. The club previously asked for financial support from fans in previous month.

Sfaxien is still banned by FIFA from transferring players but the suspension is expected to be lifted in mid-July, with the club arranging transfers to be completed once everything is settled.
