Sekhukhune United are proving to be one of the most active clubs in the current transfer window, making bold moves to bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign.

The club has announced significant additions, particularly reinforcing their goalkeeping department. In a notable move, Sekhukhune have confirmed the return of Zambian international goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata.

The 31-year-old previously spent two seasons with Babina Noko from 2021 to 2023, making 36 appearances and keeping 14 clean sheets before heading back to Zambia. Nsabata rejoins Sekhukhune on a two-year contract.

Nsabata recently took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his former club, Zesco United, where he also had a second stint. “It’s been an absolute honour to wear the Zesco badge and represent one of the respected clubs in Zambia and African Football,” he posted. Sekhukhune officially welcomed him back, stating, “Toaster returns to Babina Noko to add invaluable depth in goal. Welcome home, Toaster.”

Further strengthening their last line of defence, Sekhukhune United has also secured the services of Manuel Sapunga from PSL rivals Polokwane City FC. The 33-year-old has been a standout performer in the PSL, establishing himself as a regular starter for “Rise and Shine” over two seasons, keeping 19 clean sheets in 44 appearances.

Sapunga’s arrival was confirmed by Sekhukhune on Saturday, July 12, with the club announcing, “Manuel Sapunga has put pen to paper with Sekhukhune United.”

These goalkeeping acquisitions are part of a broader, high-profile recruitment drive by Sekhukhune United, who are signalling their intent to compete for domestic trophies.

Other notable new signings include Bradley Grobler from SuperSport United, Ronaldo Maarman from Chippa United, Miguel Timm (a free transfer from Orlando Pirates), and Sphiwe Mahlangu from TS Galaxy.

Conversely, the club has also seen several departures, including goalkeepers Badra Ali Sangare and Lloyd Kazapu, as well as midfielder Lesedi Kapinga.
