Ghana midfielder, Enoch Morrison has indicated that he wanted to play in the CAF Champions League that was why signed for Kenya club, Gor Mahia in 2024.
The 25-year-old joined the Nairobi-based club on a two-year deal as a free agent after departing Ghana giants Asante Kotoko where he was a standout performer.
Morrison was on the verge of joining Hearts of Oak but the deal fell through and the former King Faisal attacking midfielder opted for the 21-time record Kenyan champions.
Morrison told Linus Nartey TV: “I went there [Gor Mahia] because of the CAF Champions League, they were preparing to play in the CAF Champions League and as a player you need to improve your CV and at least their offer compared to the other clubs that came forward was good.
“In terms of the monetary aspect and all, it is better than playing in Ghana and that was why I chose to sign for them at that time.”
He played four games with Gor Mahia in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League season. They finished last season’s Kenya Premier League trophyless after they lost by 2-1 against newly promoted side Nairobi United in the final of the domestic FKF Cup at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
