Newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Lorient plans to bring in Senegalese goalkeeper Bingourou Kamara. Since leaving Ligue 2 side Pau in June, Kamara has been in search of a new club.

Kamara, 28, kept seven clean sheets during the 2024/25 season for Pau. His outstanding form earned him recognition as one of the best goalkeepers in Ligue 2. Lorient lost Yvon Mvogo and Gaël Alette during the current transfer window, leaving the Breton club with only Benjamin Leroy. If Kamara signs for Lorient, he is expected to serve as the backup goalkeeper to Leroy.
Kamara has been a Senegal international since 2020. Born in France to Mauritanian and Senegalese parents, he has played for clubs in both Belgium and France. He won the now-defunct Coupe de la Ligue with Strasbourg.
Tough competition in the Teranga Lions’ goalkeeping department has pushed him down the current pecking order. Senegalese goalkeepers Yehvann Diouf and Mory Diaw also play in Ligue 1, for Nice and Le Havre respectively.
