Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs FC have signed little-known South African defender Vuyo Macina and experienced Ugandan striker Joel Madondo ahead of the 2025-2026 season.
Macina has brought to the MTN Premier League champions loads of experience. He was on the books of PSL teams such as JDR Stars and Milford FC where last played last season.
It appears former Milford coach Mandla Qhogi, who is now in charge of Hotspur, might have recommended the defender.
Macina is the fourth South African to secure employment at the Eswatini champions.
Recently, Hotspurs reinforced their coaching panel with the hiring of South African Nhlanhla Hlongwa as the first assistant coach. He was joined by compatriots Tebogo Modise (performance analyst) and Asiphile Nkabane (strength and conditioning coach).
Hotspurs have also recruited well-travelled Madondo, formerly of Wydad Casablanca FC, on a two-year contract.
The Eswatini giants have since camped in South Africa for pre-season training and games.
Hotspurs have played against AmaTuks FC and Sekhukhune United with their latest match being against Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend. The Betway Premiership team won the game 5-1.
Hotspurs won their first league title last season and want to build on that in the next campaign.
