Former Kaizer Chiefs posterboy Knowledge Musona has signed for big-spending Zimbabwean side Scottland FC, effectively uniting with his younger brother Walter in one of the biggest coups for the rookies.
The newly promoted team had already shaken Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League due to a growing appetite for buying big-name players. They had landed stars including ex-Orlando Pirates centre-forward Terrence Dzvukamanja, Khama Billiat and Malawian Khuda Muyaba.
Now, Scottland have hit headlines after announcing the arrival of the former Chiefs striker. The 34-year-old recently left Saudi Arabian Pro-League side Al-Okhdood.

In a brief statement, Scottland said: “Warriors legend, Knowledge Musona will end his playing career at Scottland FC after signing a deal with us. Scottland FC becomes Musona’s first professional club on the domestic scene.”
The man, who recently came out of international football retirement, is now set to have a taste of professional football in Zimbabwe for the first time. He had never played professional football in his homeland as he signed for Chiefs from Aces Youth SA in 2009.
Musona went on to turn into a big hit for the Amakhosi, playing for them for two trophy-laden seasons that paved the way to TSG Hoffenheim in Germany’s Bundesliga in 2011. Two seasons later, a second spell with the Betway Premiership followed before he returned to Europe.
The forward, also called the Smiling Assassin, played Belgian clubs such as RSC Anderlecht until 2023 when the dollars of Saudi Arabian football proved irresistible.
