Senegal’s Pape Matar Sarr and Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze were in fantastic form for their clubs who cruised to pre-season victory on Thursday.
Matar Sarr marshalled Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield with great finesse as they nailed Arsenal by 1-0 at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.
Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya sent in a pass through to Myles Lewis-Skelly in the middle of the park but Sarr dispossessed the young England left-back before chipping a cleverr effort from half way for the opener just on the stroke of halftime.
The long distance strike proved to be the only goal of the game as Spurs continued to shape up ahead of next season’s English Premier League which kicks off in August. Spurs will next play fellow Premier League side Newcastle United at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in another friendly on August 3 before taking on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 7.
Arsenal on the other hand have clashes against Villarreal at the Emirates Stadium on August 6 and the Emirates Cup finals against Athletic Club at the same venue on August 9.
In another international friendly game, Nigeria international, Samuel Chukwueze registered a goal in the 32nd minute as AC Milan hammered Australia top flight side, Perth Glory by 9-0.
