Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, has reportedly handed in a transfer request to move away from Atalanta.
The move, confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and corroborated by Lookman himself, comes after the Serie A club rejected multiple offers from fellow Italian giants Inter, leaving the player furious and feeling betrayed.
In a statement posted on his official social media accounts, Lookman revealed the depth of his frustration, citing “many months of broken promises” and what he described as “poor treatment” from the club’s ownership.
The 27-year-old explained that he had an agreement with Atalanta that he would be allowed to leave this summer if a “fair offer” was received.
Meanwhile Romano confirmed the news on Sunday, writing on his X account:

Lookman and his representatives believe that Inter’s bid, reported to be in the region of €45 million, including add-ons, met the pre-agreed conditions for his departure.
However, Atalanta has held firm on a higher valuation of €50 million, leading to the breakdown in trust. Lookman stated that the club is now “blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand,” leaving him with no choice but to go public with his demand.
