Highly-rated winger Francisco Madinga has parted ways with Malawi’s TNM Super League pacesetter, Mighty Wanderers, following the expiration of his contract.
In a statement, Wanderers say the 25-year-old attacker declined a contract extension beyond August 6, 2025, as he wants a return to Europe.
“Francisco has informed the club of his decision not to renew his contract, as he intends to pursue an opportunity with a club in Georgia where he previously played,” the statement reads.
Madinga played his last game for the table-topping Nomads on Saturday when they drew 1-1 against Chitipa United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The attacking midfielder rejoined the Super League leaders two years ago after exiting FC Dila Gori in the Georgian League. He spent three years in the European country where he made 60 appearances and scored six goals in all competitions, according to Transfer Markt.
After returning from Europe, Madinga signed for Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Botswana but he spent a few months before returning home to rejoin the Nomads.
