Arthur Masuaku: “I will bring my experience to help Sunderland make impact”

Sunderland’s latest signing Arthur Masuaku has indicated his readiness to help the club reach higher heights in the English Premier League next season.

The 31-year-old joined the Black Cats as a free agent after leaving Turkish giants Besiktas. He returns to England after previously featuring for West Ham United.

The DR Congo left-back became the 10th signing of the club and he expressed confidence in helping the side make an impact in the premier league next season.

“I’m really happy to be here, back to the Premier League. I had three good years in Turkey and I had this challenge in front of me and I told my agent lets go.

“[A] top club, really happy to see them back in the Premier League so I am looking forward to this opportunity, Masuaku told the club’s media.

“I will just try to play my football the best way I can, we have a young team and now I am 31 [and] I will just bring what I am capable of doing to help the team to be positive because the Premier League is not easy, some tough teams, very good sides and hopefully I can do my best to be able to play a part and to have success together.”

Sunderland will open their Premier League campaign against Masuaku’s former club, West Ham United on August 16 at the Stadium of Light.
