Kenyan Premier League record champions Gor Mahia have announced the signing of three players ahead of the new 2025/26 season.
The new signings include goalkeeper Bryne Odhiambo Omondi from Bandari FC, and currently on national duty with the Harambee Stars, defender Michael Kibwage from Tusker FC, currently representing Kenya with the CHAN squad, and defender Lewis Bandi from AFC Leopards, also currently with the CHAN squad.
The club has also confirmed the exit of the following players; Kennedy Onyango, Benson Omalla, Chris Alena, Rodgers Puma, Caleb Omondi, and Boniface Omondi. AFC Leopards chairman Boniface Ambani has discussed the abrupt exit of Bandi to rivals Gore Mahia, saying he was surprised like anyone else, to see him sign for K’Ogalo.
“Lewis Bandi’s case is very disappointing, I have maintained constant contact with the player every other time including the two opening games for Kenya where he did not play encouraging him and reminding him that his time will come,” said Ambani.
“I was surprised like anyone else to see him with Gor Mahia officials signing the contract, he never joined the rest when AFC Leopards started training or even the mandatory medical test before renewal of his contract at the season opener, all we can do now is wish him all the best.”
