Ghana Premier League: Medeama bolster squad with the capture of Richard Sackey

Ghana Premier League club Medeama SC have strengthened their back line with the capture of Richard Sackey.

The 23-year-old joins the Yellow and Mauve in a three-year deal from fellow top flight side, Aduana Stars ahead of next season’s domestic campaign.

The centre-back, prior to joining Medeama decided against extending his stay at Aduana after the 2024/25 campaign.

The two time FA Cup champions confirmed the move in a statement: “Centre-Back, Richard Sackey, signs for the next 3 years.”

Sackey joined Aduana FC ahead of the 2023/24 season from the now relegated Accra Lions, where he played a pivotal role in their debut Ghana Premier League season.

Sackey has already linked up with his new teammates in Ivory Coast for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
