Malawi women’s footballers Chisomo Banda and Tendai Sani have joined Zambia’s Eden University Women’s Super League teams ahead of the new season.
Banda has completed her transfer from Silver Strikers Ladies to reigning champions Konkola Blades Queens on an undisclosed contract duration.
The youthful forward Banda helped Silver Ladies qualify for the 2024 Goshen National Women’s Championship, where they finished second.
The Scorchers forward has since expressed her excitement to join the Copperbelt-based club
“I am very excited for this move, and I would like to thank everyone at Silver Strikers for believing in me and my potential. I enjoyed my game at Silver Ladies, and I hope for the best as I start a new life in Zambia,” she told Silver media.
Weeks ago, Sani sealed a permanent transfer to another top-flight Zambian team ZISD FC from Big Bullets Ladies.
The duo has followed compatriots such as Vanessa Chikupira and Sabina Thom who also had stints with teams in Zambia. Clubs in the neighbouring country pay better than in Malawi, according to reports.
