Habib Diallo eyes European return after Saudi spell

Senegal international Habib Diallo is planning to move back to Europe after a two-season stay in the Saudi Pro League. The Al Shabab forward has a contract that runs until June 2026 but is set to end his stay in the Middle East.

Diallo, 30, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Damac, where he scored seven league goals. Five French Ligue 1 sides have shown interest in signing the striker if he leaves his current club on a free transfer. Strasbourg, Brest, Lille, Lorient, and Lens are ready to make an offer for Diallo if he departs Al Shabab.

Diallo joined Al Shabab from Strasbourg after scoring 20 Ligue 1 goals two years ago in a deal worth €18 million. His debut season in Saudi Arabia saw him score only five goals. The striker is now ready to cut short his stay in Saudi Arabia and return to Europe. Spanish clubs are also potential options for him. With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations coming up at the end of the year, Diallo also hopes to revive his chances of being selected for the Senegal national side.
