MTN 8: Eric Tinkler wary of Stellenbosch FC

Sekhukhune United coach Eric Tinkler has explained his fears ahead of Saturday’s away MTN8 semifinal, first leg match against Stellenbosch FC.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder told the media that Stellies were tough customers to face at their backyard of Danie Craven.

“The semifinal against Stellenbosch will be tough. They are strong at Danie Craven Stadium,” Tinkler said.

The Sekhukhune mentor has since urged his team to avoid making mistakes lest they get punished by Stellenbosch.

He said: “With big home support, dangerous on counter attacks and they capitalise on mistakes. We will have to be at our best to reach the MT8 final.”

Sekhukhune eliminated TS Galaxy with a 3-2 Victory. On the other hand, Stellenbosch battled past AmaZulu FC with a 3-2 win in extra time. Sekhukhune will host the second leg semifinal game on August 23.

In other games, holders Orlando Pirates take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg semifinal match also on Saturday followed by the second leg on August 23, 2025.
