Auxerre reject Nice’s opening bid for Lassine Sinayoko

French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice are persisting with their attempts to sign Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko after an opening week 1-0 defeat to Toulouse. Nice’s initial bid to sign the Malian international was rejected by Auxerre.

French newspaper L’Équipe claimed that Nice are desperate to sign a new striker after losing Ivorian forward Evann Guessand. Nice coach Franck Haise targeted the tall Auxerre striker, as he is tipped to be a direct replacement for Guessand. Nice offered €6 million for the transfer of Sinayoko but the opening bid was rejected by Auxerre.

Auxerre are not ready to lose their main striker after the new season kicked off over the weekend. Nice are expected to come with a much-improved bid before the end of the transfer window. Sinayoko, 25, is aware of Nice’s interest and the Mali international was on target when Auxerre started the new season with a 1-0 win over Lorient on Sunday.
