Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira echoed Ndovi while further acknowledging the strength of their opponents.
“They are a good side, ranked 39th on the CAF Club rankings. “They are a good side, currently ranked 39th on the CAF Club rankings. This should motivate us to prepare thoroughly in all aspects. Where necessary, we shall add depth to the squad and make sure we are in shape for the competition,” the coach is quoted saying.
The Nomads first vice-captain Felix Zulu has since said players are geared up for the two-legged matches. “We are not just motivated to win, but we also have at the back of our minds that we are carrying our country’s flag. We have an obligation to make Wanderers mighty again,” Zulu said.
Wanderers are returning to the continental competition for the first time since 2018 when they were booted out by AS Vita from Congo. The Nomads have beefed up their squad with experienced striker Muhammad Sulumbu who has signed a seven-month contract.
