Osimhen scores in first start since permanent move to Galatasaray

Reigning Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray continued their strong start to the 2025-26 campaign on Sunday with Victor Osimhen among the scorers in a 4-0 victory over Kayserispor.

With Gala on their way to victory, the Nigerian poacher made it 3-0 in the 86th minute to give the visitors a victory on Osimhen’s first start since joining on a permanent basis from Napoli. Eren Elmalı scored a brace to put the champions ahead on both sides of halftime in the eventual victory.

Osimhen came off the bench in Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Karagümrük last weekend to begin the season. Last season on loan at the Istanbul giants, Osimhen enjoyed the most prolific season of his club career with 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.

After becoming a fan favorite and crucial piece of Gala’s domestic league and cup double, the club shelled out €75 million plus add-ons to acquire Osimhen on a permanent basis. Osimhen is likely to be in the eleven next Saturday when Galatasaray host Çaykur Rizespor.
