El-Kanemi Warriors’s Kabiru Dogo praises players’ discipline in NPFL opener win

El-Kanemi Warriors’ technical adviser, Kabiru Dogo, has praised his players after they kicked off their 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a confident 2-0 home victory over Bendel Insurance on Sunday.

Goals from Al’amin Umar and Daddy Abdulrahman secured the win, giving the Maiduguri-based club a perfect start to their campaign.

Dogo, who took the helm just last month, was particularly impressed with how his players executed his game plan.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he highlighted their commitment to his coaching philosophy.

“The boys played exactly to instructions. What we did in training was exactly what they showed on the field, discipline, dedication, and commitment. I’m truly impressed, and I believe, In Sha Allah, we will continue to give our best throughout the season.”

The victory currently places El-Kanemi Warriors at the top of the table after the opening round of matches.

They will take on Ikorodu City in their next game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, this weekend.
